Tybee Island has always been closely tied to Savannah being it has the closest beaches at 22 miles away from Historic Savannah. In fact, for a time, Tybee lost it's name and was simply called "Savannah's Beach". We're glad this unfortunate decision was reversed, and Tybee become it's own entity in name again.
Tybee is a very unique island. With some of the most beautiful marshes around, the ride out to Tybee is a worthwhile adventure in and of itself. Once you get on the island, the two primary decisions are whether North or South Beach will be your focus.
